XTM: problem in QA check

I'm trying to learn XTM using a small file given to me by an agency for this purpose. When I try to run the QA function I get the message: "Unable to check the spelling because a problem occurred". This is fairly baffling as error messages go - an error message that just tells me there is a problem! Any ideas anyone?

Just in case you haven't noticed, there's a dedicated forum for XTM. Posting there would probably better attract the attention of the XTM folks.
