如果這裡是把電池與蘋果自己先前的版本進行比較,電池使用時間更長,只能說譯文比原文更加準確。

原文有點不到位。power efficient跟誰比?跟別的品牌比?跟自己的老板比? 沒有比較,這句話等於沒說,所以這個譯文的譯者的責任心高於原文作者。

你又用不同标准说不同人了。
很多文宣文字本来就是这样,需要提到这方面,就堆砌文字让读者感觉非常好,但实际是经不起对比,或出于法律原因不敢具体对比。这在产品宣传中是常态。

如果加了这些词就被判斷為不准确,那麼这种不准确要比“效能更高”那种不知所云来得MUCH LESS HARMFUL。

如果有这样一句口号: GOOD, HIGH, STRONG

最准确的“好-高-強”那麼,如下的翻译算有問題吗?

更好,更高,更強
很好,很高,很強

你可以認為它们不准确,我認為它们只比原文好。但是,如果把它们翻译成為 @*, %$, &^, 仍然有人認為这样翻译也很好, 我就不知道该说什么了

你可以把“好-高-強”等同于“更好,更高,更強”,把“效能非凡”转述成“效能更高”,这里可以看出我们对“准确”这个词理解的不同。你的理解方式,在我眼里也是@*, %$, &^

苹果富可敌国,在产品宣传及资料翻译方面不会舍不得花钱。估计问题就出在那些翻译中介。有些翻译公司在客户要求试译时不惜花重金选用高水平翻译,等翻译合同到手后,在选用翻译时就以低价为首要考虑因素。这个问题不解决,下次照样仍会闹笑话。其实,别说苹果,在其他客户那里,类似的笑话也俯拾皆是。 

翻译没法发财,只有剥削翻译者才能发财。这也是一条放之四海而皆准的真理。

I only found out yesterday, in this article, that the Mainland Chinese translation of this tagline is the following:
让妈妈开心的礼物,开了又开.

The grammar cannot be faulted...but the more you think about it, the odder it becomes. If forced to translate the Chinese translation back into English, I'd come up with something like "A gift that will make Mom happy. She'll open it again and again."
...the Chinese translator got stuck on this syllable (开) and used it a total of three times within twelve syllables, evidently thinking that he / she had achieved a clever effect by linking up "open-heart" with opening of the iPad. Unfortunately, the translation falls flat on its face.

The Hong Kong version is this:
这份礼物,母亲最爱一开再开.

And here's the Taiwan version:
一份好礼,每次打开都让妈妈感暖暖爱意.

I think that a better translation than any of the above would be something like this:
让妈妈一次又一次乐于打开的礼品.

上述两岸三地的版本终究还是离不开英文 "opening again and again" 的思路。为什么就不能译为“让妈妈爱不释手的礼物”呢? “开了又开”,不就是爱不释手吗? 妈妈爱的是包装盒里的礼物,而不是喜欢玩那盒子!要不然就成了“郑人买珠”了。

“爱不释手”,意译很传神了。可能大部分译员不敢意译,因为意译的度不好把握。像这句“And here's the Taiwan version: 一份好礼,每次打开都让妈妈感暖暖爱意.”,就感觉意译得有点过了。
