Initially I thought 持航時間 made no sense but it seems I was wrong. 持 does have the meaning of 保持 or keep, for example 心不能持.

Apparently, the oil storage tanks of a plane or a ship are unable to fly or sail by themselves. So, it would be illogical to use 續航力 for describing an iPhone's battery life.

That was exactly why I said “持航时间”和“续航时间”都是指手持设备,而不仅是电池.

就如不分青紅皂白,一律將 sustainable/unsustainable 譯為「可持續的」/「不可持續的」一樣。

"Change is in the Air" Oct 20, 2014

This is the tagline of Apple's ad campaign for the new iPad Air 2.

I was just over at Apple's website browsing their ad for the iPad Air 2, 'cause I was thinking of getting one. The way I see it, you can't beat the light weight on your chest when lying in bed.

Just for grins, I hopped over to the Chinese ad page ...

中文将 "Change is in the Air."

Geographical reference Oct 21, 2014

Right, we should not overlook the side rules; I actually should take time to read these rules carefully.

QHE,

I just saw your above post. I understand very well why you couldn't help laughing and why you were amused by my clumsy and wordy descriptions of the geographical regions. Other colleagues may have had the same feelings too. However, I was afraid that if I explicitly showed the names of those regions, i.e., mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, for indicating the three different Chinese versions, the geographical reference would be deemed to be controversial and not in line with the site rules, particularly, the site rule #1: http://www.proz.com/siterules/forum/1#1
Postings which are political, religious, or otherwise controversial in nature, or that may be considered offensive by other users, will be removed without regard to the views expressed.

Of course, my worries might have been unnecessary and superfluous.

Anyway, I totally agree with you in that all of us should take time to read these rules very carefully to make sure we understand them thoroughly before making any significant moves. Thank you!

No-one can predict when inspired translations are going to come, but the professional translator produces usable translations even when there's no inspiration at all.

change is in the air
