USO DI DO/DOES E GOT Nov 25, 2015

È la domanda che mi pongo pure io da tempo. A me è sempre stato insegnato da tempo remoto che il got è un rafforzativo dell'ausiliare avere e insieme al verbo essere non si usano mai le forme do/does.

Do e does servono per la formazione interrogativa e negativi degli altri verbi.

Do you really want to hurt me? Vuoi davvero ferirmi/farmi male... riferimento ai Culture Club e il mitico Boy George.

Consiglio comunque la grammatica di Thomson Martinet.

British English: "I've got a pencil". "Have you got a pencil?"
American: "I have a pencil". "Do you have a pencil?"
Irish English: "I have a pencil". "Have you a pencil?"
