Hello New Orleans translators, or translators who've been there!
I'm going on my honeymoon next week and my wife and I are looking for good restaurants, local bookstores, and thrift stores in New Orleans - preferably within Orleans Parish. Restaurants serving Middle Eastern, Hispanic, and local cuisine much preferred.
Thank you!

Plenty to do

You could try www.ladauphine.com. It's a small B&B that has a page about what to do in the French Quarter. Maybe you'll find inspiration for more resources.
My impression is you'd have to make quite an effort not to eat well in the old New Orleans.
There must be a large number of websites about it.

My family lived in New Orleans for over 20 years. There are lots of places to eat, many of them serving the same food. You might want to look at http://nola.eater.com/
I'm going to New Orleans in April for for my high school class of 1966 reunion. I have no idea where I'd like to eat.

I like Beckham's the best (it's two floors) and make sure you say hello to the cat (most bookstores in N.O. have at least one store cat) http://www.beckhamsbookshop.com/

Dining recommendations

New Orleans is beautiful, I hope you enjoy it! The Palm Court Jazz Cafe is a great place for dinner or drinks. Check their events schedule online, I really recommend to go their in the evening to listen to live jazz music. The Court of Two Sisters is a great place for brunch (and live music!). If you rent a car, I highly recommend to visit one of the many plantations in the area. We really liked Laura`s Plantation.
