Hello, students of the T06/2014 edition of our webinar Terminology Lists for Medicine & Healthcare - Level 1.

We have uploaded a large amount of companion materials that you may start accessing immediately.

PREPARATION materials should be downloaded from the following site:

http://goo.gl/Kgbau6
or
http://medicalhealthcareterminology.wikispaces.com/Terminology%20Lists%20for%20Medicine%20&%20Healthcare%20-%20Level%201%20(T06-W90)

When prompted, type in the user name BrauerTrainingProZ-Student-T06 and the password prosta;
enter your own email when prompted (there is no join code-if prompted, skip)

HANDS-ON exercises will be suggested to be completed AFTER each session. Study tools and a large amount of reference materials are also provided - visit the above site to access and download those of interest to you.

You do NOT need to print anything that you do not need. Personally, I do not print anything any more. All materials are to be studied on your screen. Print only those materials that are useful to you in paper. In today's world, that should be very little amount of materials.

I am very excited to be able to "meet" you virtually next week and hope that you come prepared to receive a lot of information!

Best regards
Claudia

Certification Nov 30, 2014

Do these seminars give me a certification or just a training to prepare for certification?

Certificate Vs Certification Dec 1, 2014

Hello, Deyse. We issue you a "Certificate of Attendance" for attending the webinar.
The session has a test that if completed and submitted (after the webinar) will earn you a "Certificate of Study in HC Terminology Level 1"
FYI, to earn a Certification as a Healthcare/Medical interpreter you normally have to take about 60 to 80 hours of learning sessions and/or proof of previous work as a healthcare/medical interpreter in the USA. See the National Board of Certification requirements

FYI, to earn a Certification as a Healthcare/Medical interpreter you normally have to take about 60 to 80 hours of learning sessions and/or proof of previous work as a healthcare/medical interpreter in the USA. See the National Board of Certification requirements at http://www.certifiedmedicalinterpreters.org/prerequisites. In other countries, the requirements are similar to these. So there is no way a 90 minute webinar would grant you a certification or prepare you for certification. There are many programs that you can attend that will prepare you for certification, provided you have the knowledge and experience to pass the tests. These programs usually are 40+ hrs in duration and again the National Board gives you guidelines on how to prepare for certification at http://www.certifiedmedicalinterpreters.org/how-prepare-certific.

Where to print out a certificate Dec 2, 2014

Hi Claudia

Excited to join the webminar! However, I also have a question about how to print out a certificate from my proz.com profile. I checked out 'my course' area and found 2 courses I registered, but I didn't see anywhere I could print out a certificate for each session. Or will it be ready after I finish each course and pass the test?

Kindly advice.
Thank you very much

Certificate of Completion + Recording questions Dec 4, 2014

Hello, Teresa
1. For anyone registered/paid before the actual date of the live webinar, you have 180 days (6 months) as of the date of the webinar to submit the assessment documents to obtain a Certificate of Completion. For individuals who purchase the video-recording, you have 90 days (3 months) as of the date of activation.
2. Regarding recordings of the webinar, they are usually uploaded to the site within 72 hours after the live event.
