Dear Colleagues! I'm working with Trados Studio 2009. Now I need to translate an Excel file with limited character length. Can I set a limit for the translation? And how can I see the lenght of characters written in my translation field. I heard, in the bar below but this doesn’t work in my Studio Thank you in advance for your support. Kind regards Barbara

It is important though to close Trados and reopen it again in order for the character limits to work.

This feature has been introduced in 2011 or maybe 2014, if I remember well. If you upgrade, you will be able to see the current cursor position in the status bar.
