Trados 2014: Latin American Spanish Spellcheck Thread poster: Nicolás Alejandro Medina

I would like to add a Latin American Spanish Spellcheck and I don't know how to do it. Trados says "Language not supported". Maybe I can change the name of a Mexican Spellcheck file, but I don't know what name to change it to for it to be Latin American Spanish.

I know, I was born speaking Spanish. The thing is I cannot add a Latin American Spanish Spellcheck in Trados 2014. Nothing to do with Spanish orthography.

Muchas gracias Miguel, pero me crearon el proyecto de Trados con la variante latinoamericana. No me es posible utilizar otra. Todo esto es dentro de Trados 2014. Me es imposible utilizar los otros diccionarios que provee el sistema: es_ES.dic y es_MX.dic.
Supuestamente el código para español latinoamericano es es_419, pero no me deja agregarlo (ni tampoco es_LA). Quizá alguno sabe algún atajo para que pueda agregar un diccionario que sirva para los proyectos creados con el par i... I solved it. I changed the .dic names from Mexican Spanish to "x-es-XL.dic" and "x-es-XL.aff" and added the following in "spellcheckmanager_config.xml":
x-es-XL
x-es-XL
Which enables Latin American Spanish "x-es-XL".

The configuration file you modified is used for the Hunspell spellchecker.
Why don't you use the Word spellchecker instead of Hunspell? If Microsoft Office is installed on your PC, you should use the Word spellchecker instead. Not only it is better, but you will not face this kind of problems.

Dear Walter,
I changed it to MS Office Spellcheker but the "not supported" grey button still appeared. Maybe it's because the project is in "Latin American Spanish X" and MS Office does not have that option. But if I get another project with other supported variant, I will use Office's for sure.

Tengo exactamente el mismo problema. Te puedo pedir por favor que me detalles cómo cambiaste los diccionarios?
Yo intenté hacerlo pero cuando quería hacer cambios el sistema de la computadora no me lo permitía.
