How can I create an unclean file from a PowerPoint Presentation. I've tried using SDL Legit but the conversion fails. Is it possible at all? Or how do I deliver an unclean file?

TMX is not a termbase Jul 1, 2015

Andrea

First, you can't open a TMX in Mutliterm because the TMX format is an exchange format for Translation Memories (TMs) and not for termbases, which are a different thing.

If you want to use a TMX file in Studio, you need to import it into a TM, either an existing one or a new one that you create.

About your second question: whenever you translate a document in Studio, this is is done working on a bilingual file (with the extension SDLXLIFF). This is the uncleaned file. You can simply deliver this file to your client. It is only when you use the command "Save as target" that you also create (in addition) a "clean" target file.
There is no need to use any additional tool.

Opening TMX

I am having an issue with TMX files I receive from a
client.

I can't open it directly in Studio 2014 or 2015 and if I try
to open it in Multiterm to try an export, all I get is the
warning "This termbank cannot be opened as it has not been
created with a supported MultiTerm version" (translated from
the German). Is there any hope of using it.

A second issue is creating an unclean file from a PowerPoint
Presentation. I've tried using SDL Legit but the conversion

Please do not change the contents of your posts completely, otherwise the received responses would look completely out of place. You can add anything you with to the existing post or submit a new one.

Thank you.

Walter replied too quickly :) Jul 1, 2015

Sorry for changing the title, I realised the error of my question and was altering it when Walter replied so it was too late.

The client does not usually work with SDL, they use Wordfast so I don't think a SDLXLIFF would work, would it?

If the client works with Wordfast Jul 1, 2015

you can export the translated SDLXLIFF for review: this way you will get the bilingual table.

They say not. Jul 1, 2015

So, I don't know what's going on but have just asked if they can use SDLXLIFF files and they say no.

So how do I create an unclean PowerPoint?
