French language differences between different African countries?

Hi All,

I am sorry if this question is out of place, but I couldn't find a better forum for my question.

How does the French vary in terms of dialect and writing between different African countries? Would the French be same in Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo or Nigeria for that matter? How are they different and are the differences subtle that can be taken care of easily?
