Je comprends comme vous que "tagging away" semble dire "s'éloigner" mais n'est pas normal que les poissons s'éloignent des canneurs après avoir été marqués, pour être "recapturés" 1 ou 2 mois après?
A moins qu'ici, ils veulent dire "se sont trop éloignés"?

It consists in capturing the fish, then ''marking''it, using either external, internal, chemical, natural, genetic or acoustic markers. The fish is then released, and its recapture will provide information as to population levels, behaviour, movements, reproduction, etc...
I think there is a syntax error in the original text that makes it appear very awkward. It should probably read something like: Moreover, yellowfin tuna WERE tagged away from....... |

Beispielsätze:- De plus, le thon albacore (à nageoires jaunes), puisque marqué à distance du thonier-senneur, prendra donc un certain temps avant de réapparaitre comme recapture.
