tectranslate: 12:22am Dec 14, 2005: I see 3 distinct problems with this question:
1) It _is_ a PRO question, tough as nails, in fact
2) It's a typical marketing blurb sentence (adding to 1)
3) We're not given ANY context at all to help us help you. What kind of platform, what services? -
Lucile Lunde: 12:35am Dec 14, 2005: This is a globally-accessible, real-time platform for business process networking that includes global messaging services, central data stores and application services to manage cross-enterprise business processes including product information management and data synchronisation. Does that help?

Business Service APIs
Erklärung:
Note the difference in spelling - this is actually a proposal for translation.

The big difficulty I see is that business services is a somewhat fuzzy word. I reckon these are the messaging, storage and application services you mention, but I wouldn't know of a German equivalent that is fuzzy enough and at the same time hits this nail right on the head. I did find quite a few references to Business Services on Sun's Java Enterprise Edition pages, but without intensive study, I wasn't able to find an existing German translation with the sole exception of one page on a Swiss server

While English in marketing is not popular with all German audiences, a (semi-)technical audience should be used to it, I'd say. If you have an exhaustive explanation of the "business services" somewhere else in your text, sticking to English might just work.

The term "API" should be known to pretty much known to everyone who's ever written a program, and your Web services are just Web Services (alternatively, Web-Services or Webservices) in German, BUT: If you drop the "Anwendungs" from Ricki's proposal, the sentence immediately becomes much less unwieldy (and what else would you program, if not an application, so that part could be deemed obsolete, anyway).

So, a translation of the sentence could be:
Die Plattform wird kontinuierlich um neue Business Service APIs [OR: Programmierschnittstellen für Business Services] mittels Webservices erweitert.

Thanks. I will rather stick to the English. The link is helpful too.

Das ist die brute-force-Übersetzung; es kann aber sein, dass in deinem Kontext "business services" ein Eigenname ist oder schon eine anderweitig vorgegebene Übersetzung hat

Neutraler Kommentar tectranslate: Brute force=it's prolly going to be unusable. Poster's records (first question, into 2 languages) indicate it might be a one-shot thing for a company translating their marketing materials into various languages. Also I doubt a German explanation will help
