Quasi sempre si tratta di aspiratori (in qualche caso - raro, direi -sono dei semplici ventilatori), quindi potrebe andar andar bene anche "dispositivi di aspirazione" o "dispositivi aspiranti" - o anche "aspiratori" (anche se un po' meno preciso, IMHO).
"controllo della funzionalità dei..." o "controllare la funzionalità..." a seconda di come vuoi girare la frase, ovviamente
