Molto spesso trovo:
Cf. (nome autore) (seguito dall'anno di pubblicazione dell'opera e dai passi citati nel testo); "contrast" (nome di un altro autore).
Significa che il secondo autore "contrasta l'opinione del primo", cioe' che non concorda, oppure altro ancora ? Sembra una dicitura standard nelle note, non so. Grz ! |

Non ho mai visto contrast ma più volte ho visto questa dicitura in testi italiani. O ancora "cfr. [confronta] anche" ma non è necessariamente avversativo.
"Contrast" sembrerebbe la traduzione del più comune "vs." (versus: abbr. v. or vs. Against. 2. As the alternative to or in contrast with. - bartleby.com)
