I just want to know what you would call the editor of a magazine - the person in charge of deciding editorial content, who comissions features etc. the person who write's the foreword at the start of a magazine.
I know it is not editore.
Suggestions please?????

Curatore is usually the editor of a book.

usually a "direttore" does exactly what you described :)
