English term or phrase: kickouts
A scaffold usually consists of tubular frames that are bolted or clamped together to form box-shaped structures. Bracing is used to keep the scaffolding square, plumb, and level. The face of work will not exceed 35.5 centimetres (14 inches) from the front edge of all platforms on a scaffold unless guardrails have been erected along the front edge of the platforms and/or personal fall arrest systems are used according to the fall protection requirements. Kickouts and outriggers without guardrails on the workface side are required to be within 7.5 centimetres (3 inches) of the face of work
