Art/Literary - Dichtung und Belletristik / I think it is appropriate, songs being the poetry of our time | | Englisch Begriff oder Satz: bloody good cry | I have to translate the text of a song of the Clancy Brothers, a famous Irish group (well, they were more famous once) and the lyrics I don't seem to be able to render in Italian are these:" let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody good cry, and always remember the longer you live, the sooner you bloody will die."
To translate the term sanguinoso would be ridiculous, so what do I do? Any suggestions? In the Harry Potter films there was a character, I don't remember his name, that kept saying: bloody hell!, but I saw the films in English and have no idea how they translated that expression in Italian. |

I think "dannazione!" is the closest match to "bloody hell!" AS for the lyrics...I don't think you can get away without some poetic license... I'd say something like "non ci basta qualche lacrima, piangiamo un dannato fiume- ricorda sempre, piu' vita avrai e prima morirai"
