Ana, calculo que Twas seja "it was".
"The night before christmas" é o dia antes do Natal, logo, poderá ser véspera de Natal ou noite de Consoada...

Conforme sugestão acima, poderia colocar:

\"Era noite de Consoada\"
não sei qual delas se aplica melhor ao seu texto. Mas se quiser colocar um pouco mais talvez surjam sugestões melhores, até rimadas, quem sabe!
