Example: Partial cutting with edges:
The effective size of a piece is to have a dimension of 1000.0 mm x 500.0 mm.
The piece is to be equipped with an edging*** at the front with a thickness of 5.0 mm (raw edging dimension = 7.0 mm) and an edge lip at the left with a thickness of 1.2 mm. The piece is veneered. The cut is to be carried out with an excess dimension of 10.0 mm. There are no milling/grinding
allowances.
Principal Procedure
•The cut is executed in accordance with the piece’s raw dimensions.
•Then, the edgings are applied (edgings*** are only cut to their final dimensions during the format cut). When applying the edgings, the milling/grinding allowance is removed (e.g. by milling the allowance off the ***edge’s edging***).
•The piece is veneered with the edging***
•A format cut of the piece is executed
•After applying the edge lips, the piece has attained its complete size.
С одной стороны – edges, с другой – edgings. Если одно из них – кромки, то тогда что другое?
Судя по данной фразе:

edgings – разновидность кромки, равно как и edge lips?

Edge type: edgings or edge lips. Оба варианта - конкретные разновидности edge вообще.

Erklärung:
IMHO и то и другое просто кромки - одинаковые - а слова используются просто как синонимы
