Übersetzungen Französisch > Englisch [PRO] Science - Chemie, -technik / pharmaceutical manufacturing process | | Französisch Begriff oder Satz: échantillon bloquant | "échantillon bloquant" pops up all over this description of part of a pharmaceutical manufacturing process, which includes all the samples to take and the in-process controls to perfrom on them. Lots of pages just have a ticked box at the bottom labelled "échantillon bloquant". Here's an example with a little more context from a table called "analyses en cours", some but not all rows have Ech. Bloquant in the "notes" column:-
N° échantillon: Ech 1a (repère 4)
Nature: Solution St4 DS dans THF
Analyse: GC % - Méthanol
Notes: ECHANTILLON BLOQUANT <=0.10%
N° échantillon: Ech 3a,b,c,d (repère 9)
Nature: Milieu réactionnel
Analyse: HPLC % surface - [intermediate product X]
Notes: ECHANTILLON BLOQUANT <=0.5%
N° échantillon: Ech 8a (repère 22)
Nature: Gâteau sec
Analyse: Solvent résiduel par GC: méthanol/THF/MTBE
Notes: ECHANTILLON BLOQUANT <=3000ppm/720ppm/5000ppm

Eric BILLY: 1:51pm Sep 20, 2007: a bit of chemistry: during synthesis of a pharmaceutical compund (as I know it better), we need to direct the chemical reactio, so we block some of the chemical sites of a comppound backbone with the help of "blocking agent or blocking group".
Eric BILLY: 1:52pm Sep 20, 2007: then, we purify the product of the reaction, and perform analysis (GC, HPLC, etc.) to identify traces of the blocking agent used during the synthesis.
I hope it is clear and it will help you to pick the right term :)
Helen Genevier: 2:08pm Sep 20, 2007: Hi Eric, during this process, every time a sample is taken that is described as an "échantillon bloquant" the process is halted until the échantillon has met the acceptance criteria for purity. If it fails the GC/HPLC QC test, the previous purification steps have to be repeated until it passes. The "critical sample" idea seems therefore to fit my context better.

| | critical sample | Erklärung: don't really know if this is the offocial term - but the idea seems to be that if a sample does not meet certain criteria in the context of a particular analysis then that batch of product or whatever cannot be used. |
