Although the punctuation seems a bit odd, I think this is referring back to the 'alarmes' — there is one alarm for 'too full / overflow' and another for 'not full enough / low water level'

Just to clarify my response to NewCal's peer comment (because I don't think I expressed myself clearly enough!):

I believe that there is something wrong with the punctuation of the sentence as it stands, because I think the 'automatiique' qualifies 'alarme' and hence covers both too full / not full enough alarms — I can see no technical logic to qualifying ONLY 'low water level' as automatic.

So for me, it ought to be:

"dispositifs d'alarme (de trop-plein et manque d'eau) automatique"

I have used ( ) to make the word grouping clearer, though I realize FR would be more likely to do it with commas.

Persoanlly, I'd have thought the following word order might have been clearer:

"dispositifs d'alarme automatique, pour trop-plein et manque d'eau"

But I remain convinced that is the intended meaning...

Richard Benham: It doesn't really matter whether "alarme" is made to qualify "dispositifs" or (as here) "alarme"; either way they're "automatic alarm mechanisms". You are right, though: the comma is wrong, and the word-order, though not wrong, is unfortunate & ambiguous.
