Erklärung:
Given the mechanical function being performed here, I would expect the "zingué" to be referring to "galvanized", rather then mere zinc electroplating; the FR term is ambiguous, but for a component likely to be subject to mechanical wear, galvanizing is a more likely bet (ask your son!)
The word "steel" can be taken as read, in an equivalent context in EN we would often (informlly at least!) say "made from 3 mm galvanized"
