There obviously is an equivalent, but it doesn't seem fair to choose one above the others without some kind of indisputable proof. Sorry. Sorry, I thought I\'d added a further note with more references and stuff - obviously I didn\'t, and can\'t find them just st the moment. Sweet green basil (Latin name Ocimum basilicum) is a synonym for what I\'d usually just call basil, there are several other names for it, including sweet basil, large leaved basil; there are quite a few varieties of it including purple-leaved, lettuce-leaved (with extra large ruffled-edged leaves - I don\'t think it\'s that one here), anise basil, etc. - here are some of them: http://www.jekkasherbfarm.com/searchp.asp |
