rousselures: 3:53am May 2, 2007: If you google "chinese portrait" you'll find a lot of hits from native English speaking sources, but they all say that it's a French game. They give the French name for it with a English translation in brackets. You could do the same!:-)

Just as "Chinese whispers" doesn't translate literally, I don't think this does either, so you were right to have some hestitations, Alain. This game appears in interviews, language teaching etc, but doesn't appear to be named explicitly (at least, I can't find a name). Often seems to be described as "If I/you was/were a ..." or maybe personality quiz/test/game ... Only place I found Chinese portraits was on a site written by a Fr speaker ... I don't think Eng speakers would necessarily understand "Chinese portraits", but personality test/quiz etc, yes ... |
