Geologie | | Französisch Begriff oder Satz: l'ensemble amont du bassin | This is confusing! Elsewhere the article refers to "l'amont du bassin versant" which I have translated as "the upstream part of the drainage basin", but obviously this is not the case here. This is the context:
"...il est indispensable d'aborder la question de l'aménagement de l'ensemble amont du bassin versant."
With "l'ensemble" now placed in front, the "amont" has lost its definite object, leaving me unsure whether to assume that it means "the whole of the upstream part...etc" or something else.
Any help gratefully received. |

Francis Marche: 8:50am Jun 30, 2007: But this is so wrong: "watershed management" has never been anything else but "aménagement du bassin versant" in French and "Bassin versant" is NOT a basin like the Congo or Amazon Basin; and "upper reaches" IS the term for "the upstream part"
