Metallurgical seems right, but leaves out the "magnetic" bit.

| Hinweis von Fragesteller an den Antwortenden11,400 hits on Google, that's good enough for me. I guess the rule for science translation is take out the accents and put an English ending on the word - faut pas se compliquer la vie!
