Französisch Begriff oder Satz: Acier électrozingué de 3 mm d'épaisseur type "L + Z"
Company product brochure, describing door embrasure frame that has characteristics, including this one

". . .ébrasement en acier électrozingué de 3 mm d'épaisseur type "L + Z". . ."

What do the "L" and the "Z" refer to? Do you think it's the profile of the rolled section? Insights please. Thanks as always.

Erklärung:
I should think. Exactly which way the L bends relative to the Z I cannot say, but either way it will give plenty of mating and sealing faces for the door to close against.

Personally I would talk of the REVEAL or JAMB rather than EMBRASURE (which makes me think of fortifications, be they quadrangular or not, and lines of fire). Check out definitions and see what you think.

Imagine an L on its back followed by a right-angled Z :
__
____l l___

(where the top bar should be resting on the two ells)
The door closes against the \"hump\" in the middle.

Well, that didn\"t work, did it!
Move the top bar a few spaces to the right, and move the two uprights apart from each other to get the general picture. I guess another way of saying it would be \"omega section\".

Zustimmung Tony M: Yes, to both points. I imagine the 'Z' as in fact a sort of double 'L' , which would seem useful if constructing a door frame!
