I imagine that this is some kind of wire fastening of the handles for the doors but interestingly enough, I cannot find babouin used in this sense in Le Petit Robert or on the net. Anyone who just happens (!) to know what a babouin is exactly, please let me know. And I am wondering whether there is a specific expression for tringlerie d'ouverture.
Thank you for your help. |
| | | See explanation below... | Erklärung: Well, according to GDT, a 'babouin' can be a small sling linking together several larger slings in order to be able to fit them on the hook of a crane (I'm parapharsing!)
So I would guess (only!) that this is a wire running round the multi-fixing points of a watertight door to ensure that all of them are 'sealed' in such a way that they cannot be inadvertently opened.
As for 'tringlerie...', I can visualize exactly what they mean, but I personally don't know of a specific term, I think I'd just go for 'opening mechanism'... or maybe 'linkages'? |
