Obviously some sort of aerial enabling the reader to read keycards or wristbands, but I'm not sure how to translate the "Mulden" bit.

The reference below describes how such an antenna is used in a held-held device to measure radio-frequency radiation at close range - in this case from mobile phones. I would imagine that such an antenna might also be used in a card-reading device, as mentioned in your context.
BTW, I'd stick to "antenna" even for BE. I know "aerial" is more commonly used for TVs in the UK, but I think "antenna" is used universally for devices such as these. |
