Die Abrollprüfung dient dem Nachweis eines gleichbleibenden Schweißergebnisses bei Blechdicken < 0,2 mm (kleinste Einzelblechdicke) und soll zum Ausknöpfen der Schweißpunkte führen. Directly connected with this is the term "Abrollproben". My dictionary gives "Ausknöpfprobe - spot weld shear test", but there is also a Scherzugprobe, which sounds more like "shear test" to me. Bei der Prüfung punktgeschweißter Bleche hat man bei schwer verformbaren Teilen (dicke Bleche, hochfestes Material) immer wieder das Problem, daß die Abrollprüfung nach ISO 10447 nicht durchführbar ist. Auch die dort beschriebene manuelle Meißelprüfung ist schwierig durchführbar, laut und verletzungsgefährdend.

That was also suggested elsewhere (http://form.dict.cc/forum-questions/detail-96205-Abrollpr%FCfung.html) and is also referred to in the a-sp link above, but since it bears no relation to the German and translates back differently (Ernst: Schältest, Kucera: Peeltest, ds-translations.at: Abrollversuch, Raupentest) I was somewhat wary of it.
