Square usually develops games for a particular video game console first and then starts porting to PC.
Having seen other classic games ported to PC format, such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and the like, may be enough to put some people off buying this one.
For the past three years, Beenox has been providing services to Activision by adapting or "porting" games from the game console environment to run in the Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh environments.
They have some Sega games ported to PC.
Porting console games to the PC should not be viewed as some small task to make money on a different system by the developer and publisher.
Though, the idea of porting console games to the PC is nothing new.

If you want to avoid the ambiguity in the meaning of 'port' and don't trust the context to do this for you, you could say 'programs ported to games consoles'.
