Spiele/Videospiele/Computerspiele/Kasino / Fantasy Video Game | | Deutsch Begriff oder Satz: hübsch auf haben | Du hast ganz ja ganz hübsch auf mit diesen Kreaturen. Ich versuche nun schon seit Tagen, hier heran zu kommen. Ohne Erfolg.
This is the text to a fantasy RPG. There isn't really much context to go on, except for the lines that follow. I'm pretty sure the first "ganz" is a typo as well. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is this a common expression? |

"Hübsch auf haben mit jemandem" is an expression I have never heard in my life, and it doesn't make any sense to me.

efreitag: 7:54pm Jun 27, 2008: Ich glaube, das ist ziemlich weit hergeholt. Ich kenne "sich verschanzen", aber "aufschanzen"? Was heißt denn das? Da sollte wohl der Kunde gefragt werden, so ergibt der Satz einfach überhaupt keinen Sinn.
Johanna Timm, PhD: 8:04pm Jun 27, 2008: stimme dir vollkommen zu, ich würde auf jeden Fall auch den Kunden fragen! "schanzt auf" ergibt aber ein paar relevante google hits (s. verschanzen ist nat. die üblichere Form).
Courtney Sliwinski: 8:11pm Jun 27, 2008: Unfortunately, the client has gone home for the weekend, and won't be back until Monday (when this is due). I'll have to write a memo about it unless I come up with something plausible. Right now I made an educated guess and translated it as "You seem to have a lot of influence on these creatures." Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

du hast's/bist ja ganz schön/gut/hübsch drauf mit diesen Kreaturen -
meaning you're doing a great job/ a hell of of a job/ you've got it going on for you with these creatures (and I don't because I've been trying for days to get close to them)
you've got quite a rapport/ a good relationship...
or as you phrased it, you've got a lot of influence.....
