This is not Petra - it's karstic formations in Portugal :-)

A guess - but seems to make sense. Two definitions:

Series of glacier erratics from the same bedrock source, usually with some property that permits easy identification. Arranged across country in a fan, with apex at source and widening in direction of glacier movement.

Clusters of erratics from same source, with some distinctive characteristic that makes their common source easily recognizable.
