Schönheit gefällt unmittelbar und hat allgemeine Gültigkeit. Wenn mir etwas angenehm erscheint hat das privatgültigkeit. Sie ist einer Lust unterworfen und ist gleichzeitig eine Empfindung und Schön ist eine Beurteilung. Das angenehme geht auf das Subjekt, Schön aber auf das Objekt, somit ist schön was allgemein gefällt. Wir könnten dieses Thema noch viel länger in Anspruch nehmen, doch gerne möchte ich mich heute der Schönheit des Lebens widmen.
This is an easy question I know. the words are not the problem, but for some reson I am not getting what the guys is actually menaing in last part of the final sentence. Sorry for asking a really trivial thing.....TIA |

I'm leaning towards the first (thus agreeing with Norbert) but wouldn]t rule out the second interpretation - sich der Schönheit des Lebens widmen can mean 'enjoy [real] life'. |
