A biomechanical study:

"Fibulapaare wurden standardisiert osteotomiert und so eine einfache Weber-B-Fraktur erzeugt. Die Frakturen wurden mit einer dorsolateral angelegten Antigleitplatte versorgt, wobei ein Partner eines Paares eine nichtwinkelstabile und der jeweils andere eine winkelstabile Versorgung erhielt."

I have "fixed-angle plating" ( rather than 'angle-stable', btw) for winkelstabile Versorgung. But I was wondering what the En equivalent of "nichtwinkelstabil" was... Can I simply say 'variable-angle plating" or should I keep it generic, e.g. "non-fixed-angle"? I do not know enough ortho surgery to know whether "variable-angle plating" is just one of the 'nichtweinkelstabilen' methods, or a direct synonym.

Any surgeons out there?
