autographs
Erklärung:
This is how I have always heard it, read it, said it.. SOmetimes "autograph manuscripts", the fuller form.

E.g. "His source was the Walsh edition: he seems to have had no knowledge of the autographs in the Fitzwilliam Museum", in my Händel Flute Sonatas volume.

\"Original manuscripts\" is not quite the same thing - e.g. Händel, when going blind, used to dictate. Then the original manuscript was written by his secretary, and is thus no \"Eigenschrift\". And when a composer writes an original manuscript and then copies it, they are both \"Eigenschriften\" (and thus important for studying the text), but only the first is the \"original manuscript\".

By the way, I checked Kim´s source for \"autographic\". It is written by a Japanese. It is mostly quite well written, but occasionally quite wrong linguistically. Google gives a few hits (10) for \"autographic manuscript\", but they are all of non-native origin.

I read the article with great interest, though.

Widerspruch Chris Rowson: Yes, "original manuscript" is a common term, but not quite the same thing. "Original script" is not used in this context.

autographic copy

Erklärung:
Wahrig defines Autograf (which is the same as Eigenschrift, see below) as *eigenhändig schriebenes Schriftstück einer bedeutenden Persönlichkeit.
The following website provided this information:

autographic manuscript instead of copy

Also autographic score, fair copy.

Furthermore, the manuscript sources that can be considered to have stemmed from an early autographic score (which is lost) attest numerous textual variants in the early shape of the text. The fact that these observations coincide with equivalent information contained in the other contemporary works by Bach gives much credibility to the integrity of such information, which in turn, becomes valuable chronological evidence.
