The client is designing a shopping centre and statinghow many qm will be allocated to various types of shop.
Genussmittel is probably delicatessen, in a supermarket it could just be food hall, but what is this categoty for the shopping centre designer? |

By the way, it is not part of a sentence, it is an item in a list of product groups.

This is the standard translation for the industry, i.e. the N&G industry. I think it sounds a little bit more highbrow than food and drink, but that would also be a good option.
As you say, we're not likely to mention the tobacco separately ...
