rainerc: 9:09am Oct 17, 2005: there is a difference between 'Auftragssatz' (order record) and 'Bestellsatz'!
Stephen Sadie: 9:16am Oct 17, 2005: SAP distinguishes this as "job record" = "Auftragssatz" although Auftrag is often "order" in SAP lingo -
rainerc: 10:42am Oct 17, 2005: My official SAP dictionary only uses 'order' for Auftrag in the MM context.
Hilary Davies: 11:10am Oct 17, 2005: @ Stephen and Rainer - I'd be interested to know which (version number, etc) "SAP dictionaries" you are looking up? This info would be very helpful for those of us who post/answer SAP questions to see. Thanks a lot! -
rainerc: 11:35am Oct 17, 2005: I'm using the latest version, but that realy shouldn't make a difference
Hilary Davies: 11:42am Oct 17, 2005: Is it the SAPTerm CD? or something else? Terms do change/get added, etc, so sometimes it does make a difference. -
rainerc: 12:04pm Oct 17, 2005: It's part of our SAP system (R/3) we use in the company (transaction sterm)
Hilary Davies: 12:39pm Oct 17, 2005: Ahhh! Thanks very much for the clarification. -

Purchase order record
Erklärung:
I looked in SAP's internal terminology DB and this term isn't an official SAP term. However, the term "Bestellentwicklungssatz" IS used, with the corresponding translation of "purchase order history record".

So I suggest "purchase order record" to separate it clearly from just an "order record".

This is from the MM component

More research using other official SAP terminology: "Bestellpreisentwicklungssatz" is translated as "order price history record" with "purchase order price history record" as a permitted synonym.

Again, this SAP terminology DB (issued by SAP) does not contain Bestellsatz, but I think the use of "purchase order" to separate the term from Auftragssatz (which has the official translation of just "order record").

Zustimmung Hilary Davies: this is what I would have gone for too - they're usually (at least in MM and Retail) quite clear about distinguishing PO from order. Hi Joanne ;-)
