This is a tourism text describing the area around Bibione in the Veneto.

"La foce del Tagliamento, o zona faro, è certamente l'area più importante in quanto ha al suo interno una moltitudine di ambienti: il litorale, le dune, la pineta, le depressioni retrodunali, il prato umido, la prateria, il bosco idrofilo, la duna fluviale, la zona umida del Revelino."

I understand it to be a marshy wood. Is there a more technical term or shall I just call it that?

-> thanks Rachel - and your links are much better than mine - I think the species in Serre Persano are likely to be pretty similar to those in Bibbione

James (Jim) Davis: I should put "marshy" in brackets or something, unless they want to exclude all tourists who are not botanists and technical translators.

-> Yes, I'd agree on "marshy woodland" - it's not unusual for English to be a bit more specific "floodplain woodland" or "alder woodland" or else more generic "wet woodland". Here we can only be more specific if we know the species involved or the hydrology

Rosa Cabral: technically hydrophilous woodland... riparian means relating to or inhabiting the banks of a natural course of water. Whereas hydrophilous woodland specifies growing or thriving in water or requiring the presence of water for fertilization .
