Medical - Medical (general) / abdominal X-ray
Italian term or phrase: ridotta quota gassosa
Abdominal X-ray done on a patient in hospital:

Radiografia dell'addome - ridotta quota gassosa addominale. Non livelli idrogassosi. Non immagini riferibili ad aria libera endoaddominale." (I'm adding the other findings because they all seem related.)

I could just translate this as "reduced levels of abdominal gas" but I find very few (under 10) google hits for the phrases "levels of abdominal gas" or "amounts of abdominal gas" (or air); I want to make sure that I'm translating the correct meaning of this and the way it's said in English, not just what the words look like.

(I'm making that comment because I often find in proofreading that a translator has used words that look the same in the target language, but don't express the meaning because it's not the terminology used in the target.)

Thanks again for your help.

Overview

X-rays of the abdomen are important in diagnosing the presence of small bowel obstruction. When obstruction occurs, both fluid and gas collect in the intestine. They produce a characteristic pattern called "air-fluid levels". The air rises above the fluid and there is a flat surface at the "air-fluid" interface.

This view may be particularly helpful to look for free intra-abdominal air (under the diaphragms) and air-fluid levels. Keep in mind that, due to the effects of gravity ..
