Polnisch Begriff oder Satz: artykuły jeździeckie
Company X produces and sells miltary uniforms and insignia and they specialis/ze in the period of the Second World War. They also offer the following:

artykuły jeździeckie

Wypożyczamy pojazdy wojskowe takie jak: (etc. etc.)

And that's how the sentences are laid out. So, the question is, can I translate this as:

Transport equipment

We hire/rent out military transport such as:

?

Thank you in advance! :-)

FishX: 1:28am Aug 3, 2006: am I missing something? What about the horses? And personally I would go for vehicles rather than transport, by the way.
Caryl Swift: 1:36am Aug 3, 2006: My fault - I didn't explain properly - What I have in mind at the moment is:

Transport equipment

We hire out military vehicles such as:

A,B,C,D etc.

Yes, of course, vehicles - that's what I thought from the beginning-but probably tiredness wiped it from my mind when I wrote the question. What I'm asking is this - is 'transport equipment' an adequate translation of 'artykuły jeździeckie' - and BTW, I don't think the company hires out horses . . . :-)
Caryl Swift: 1:37am Aug 3, 2006: Again, mea culpa for a badly-worded question - the kind of things listed are ambulances, motorcycles, jeeps etc.
lukeg_1: 1:38am Aug 3, 2006: Adrian's right...and for equestrian equipment :)

Caryl Swift: 1:41am Aug 3, 2006: Ok - I can see that I'm going to have to check with the client . . .
Caryl Swift: 1:56am Aug 3, 2006: Or would this be something like:
'equipment for mounted troops'?
FishX: 2:00am Aug 3, 2006: well if you're on a horse you don't need a jeep, do you? I think it's clear case of check with client, as you say.
Caryl Swift: 2:08am Aug 3, 2006: Adrian, right now I don't need a horse or a jeep, I need a linguistic Pegasus . . .
lukeg_1: 2:10am Aug 3, 2006: Seems they offer equestrian equipment (for sale/rent) and also rent military vehicles; only that makes sense.
Caryl Swift: 2:12am Aug 3, 2006: Yes, I agree, lukeg - but they only deal with military equipment, so does my suggestion above - 'equipment for mounted troops' make sense as a translation?
lukeg_1: 2:21am Aug 3, 2006: no, there is nothing in 'artykuły jeździeckie' to relate it to military. They may mean that, but basicly it is not related to the military only! Artykuły jeżdzieckie to equestrian equipment . Period.
lukeg_1: 3:01am Aug 3, 2006: Caryl, check with your client. Explain a difference between ‘equestrian equipment’ and ‘'equipment for mounted troops' (wyposażenie jazdy/konnicy) and see which way they want to go.

riding accessories
Erklärung:
boots, a cap or a cane hardly qualify as equipment IMO
and indeed, I wouldn't ask about anything - jeździectwo is riding or horsemanship without any defence connotations

riding (horseback riding) equipment

Erklärung:
OK, so "artykuły jeździeckie" refers to staff like: saddle, bridle, stirrups, spurs, etc... and definitely not to "pojazdy wojskowe"

Pojazdy wojskowe I would translate rather as: "military vehicles"
"transport" in military context usualy means "transportowiec" and refers only to ships and aircraft.
