The protagonist's unfaithful ladyfriend is reading the Bible and she reads the following fragments:
" . . . ani nie znaleziono zdrady w ustach jego . . . "
"I faryzeusze przyprowadzili kobietę przyłapaną na cudzołóstwie i postawili ją po środku . . . Wtedy rzekł Jezus: i ja cię nie potępiam. Idź i nie grzesz więcej . . ."
"A stanąwszy z tyłu u nóg Jego, płacząc poczęła łzami nogi Jego i włosami z głowy swojej obcierać i całowała nogi Jego i namaszczała olejkami"
My question is, should I take a older transaltion of the Bible here (my instinct), or is this in fact a more modern Polish translation?
I hope this counts as a Kudos question?

W tłumaczeniu cytatów z Biblii zawsze posługuję się King James Bible.
Przytoczony przez Ciebie fragment, stanowiący treść tego pytania (1. Paweł, 22) istotnie w Biblii Tysiąclecia brzmi nieco inaczej - "On grzechu nie popełnił, a w Jego ustach nie było podstępu".
Z drugiej strony "guile" z proponowanej przeze mnie wersji (King James) bliższe właśnie podstępowi jest, niż zdradzie.
O ile Twój oryginał nie stanowi studium porównawczego różnych przekładów Biblii, zrobiłabym, jak wyżej.
Jakie inne tłumaczenie bierzesz pod uwagę? |

Fragesteller: Personally, none of them! I love the King James version and would always use it. However, there are a number of more modern translations (cf. http://tinyurl.com/r94ve ) and if I were told that the Polish was a more modern version, I'd dutifully dig through them. But for choice - King James every time!
