Polnisch Begriff oder Satz:[opakowanie] przekombinowane, za dużo pstrokacizny, wieś tańczy i śpiewa
Zdanie pochodzi z oceny konsumentów o opakowaniu pewnego produktu. Dzielnie przeszłam przez szczegóły techniczne, upiorne skrótowce i spontanicznie tworzone neologizmy, jednak przy tym cudzie natury zawiodła mnie wena...
Moja wersja dotychczasowa to "too elaborate, motley, vulgar".
Caryl Swift: 6:21pm Jun 23, 2007: @ Maciej: I think Agnieszka's right. A non-logged in asker can't ask a 'pro' question. Vote to change it? bartek: 6:44pm Jun 23, 2007: Już jest pro i możecie spokojnie szaleć :) Joanna Borowska: 8:03pm Jun 26, 2007: "Wieś tańczy i śpiewa" to utarty zwrot oznaczający wulgarność, kicz, tandetę (czyli, slangowo, „wieśniactwo/wiochę”). Nie chodzi tu więc tyle o przekombinowanie (all singing, all dancing), co brak dobrego smaku. Joanna Borowska: 8:04pm Jun 26, 2007: Wersja Caryl świetnie oddaje dwa pierwsze z trzech wymienionych w pytaniu określeń, ale jeśli chodzi o ostatnie, to ja poszłabym raczej w stronę "tacky".
Erklärung: I'll give you some references in a moment. In the meantime, as far as I know, 'all-singing, all-dancing' is about as close as you can get to 'wieś tańczy i śpiewa' in this context.

I'm not sure about the 'over-done motley' though - not without knowing what the packaging is like. There are a great many possibilities. You could also try e.g :
an overdone patchwork
OR
a mess of colour
(which I personally think might be better).
And, of course, my suggestion should say:
'... an all-singing, all-dancing'
I did write it in - but I'm having some technical problems at the moment and the 'an' disappeared. Sorry about that.

The thing is, although that reference talks about technology, people, as people, use the expression to refer to anything which is full of the latest, or any, 'attractions' - whethyer it's a new computer or a new restaurant.

"Depending on how much you want to be involved, you can get different levels of service (at different levels of cost). This can be as simple as advertising in the local rag, then vetting and credit checking prospective tenants (from then you're on your own) - or it can be an all-singing-all-dancing service - you just sit back and wait for the cheques (they provide you with a watertight, lawyer friendly tenancy agreement, they collect the money, find new tenants if the old ones leave, chase debts, do minor repairs, etc.) (...)"
