Spanisch Begriff oder Satz:operaciones de tráfico [pasivo]
Provisiones para operaciones de tráfico
On the liabilities side of a balance sheet
I have found something in Eurodicautom for the asset side..regulated provisions relating to other assets.
Any ideas on both welcome.

xxxJane Lamb-Ru: 14:38 Aug 9, 2005: Lorna..what kind of company is this? What kind of traffic? Network traffic? - lorna o'donoghue (asker): 18:45 Aug 9, 2005: I think as A - I think as Anita and Nikki suggest, trafico is a term here for trade. I found another reference in Proz from Marian Greenfield for operaciones de trafico. She too uses trade. Think I'll go with this. xxxJane Lamb-Ru: 19:16 Aug 9, 2005: Lorna..that does really mean anything..what matters is to know what kind of company this is..when Marian says Trade..she means like Foreign Exchange Trading..does that apply to your case?? - lorna o'donoghue (asker): 19:59 Aug 9, 2005: The accounts are for a hotel chain. lorna o'donoghue (asker): 04:35 Aug 10, 2005: more information on context - Provisiones para operaciones de tráfico
Many thanks to all and especially to Nikki for taking the extra time to clarify. BTW, can you give more details on that financial dictionary? 4 KudoZ-Punkte wurden für diese Antwort vergeben

Erklärung: Typically, provisiones are Allowances...I see no justification for Regulated here..THere are merely allowances or provisions

It depends.....in big companies, traffic can be an Operations Unit in a company..
Also, in Trading companies, that buy and sell commodities, I have seen Traffic...so, you decide

Every company has their set of accounts and names according to their paticular operations. In this case, the literal name is straight forward. The account you mentioned on the Asset side of the Balance Sheet, could be an account for provisions for many expenses. It is not the scope of the translator to figure this out. Good luck!

It sounds that traffic here are expenses directly related to those caused by the guests.

Erklärung: I am surprised that nobody seems to recognise this, as it is a standard item in Spanish accounts. I have seen it many times and it does NOT refer to traffic. Tráfico here is trade. Here is an explanation from the diccionario de contabilidad y finanzas:
agrupación de cuentas perteneciente al grupo de accreedores y deudores por operaciones de tráfico que recoge en las mismas la cobertura de situaciones de posible insolvencia de clientes y otros deudores, así como provisiones de otras operaciones de tráfico. Está formada por las siguientes cuentas: Provisión para insolvencias de tráfico. Provisión para insolvencias de tráfico de empresas asociadas. Provisión para insolvencias de tráfico de empresas del grupo. Provisión para otras operaciones de tráfico.
It therefore doesn't make a blind bit of difference what the company does. This is standard terminolgy. This dictionary suggests merely "provisions" as the translation. I happen to think that the suggestion you were given, "trade provisions" is better.
The translation it gives for Provisión para otras operaciones de tráfico is provision for other trade debts
HTH
By the way, the above-mentioned dictionary is not expensive and its explanations of the terms are excellent. However, some of its translations into English have to be taken with a pinch of salt. A must, IMHO, for anyone working regularly with Spanish accounts.
