Wordreference.com and Wikipedia (with pictures) in both Spanish and French. In French aparejo is appareil and they both come from the Latin word Opus. This is in fact in line with the explanation of T. Dalglish.
Maybe form and layout could also work.
Cassell's dictionary calls this structural disposition. |
