Taña Dalglish: 9:50am Apr 26, 2007: Having been one of the persons to answer the question and the issue is not points here, for the same of a correct entry in the glossary, the game is Padel and not Paddle as is presently in the glossary. Even the links in Katya's response refer to Padel.
Taña Dalglish: 9:51am Apr 26, 2007: I sincerely believe this requires further investigation and verification so that it can be "glossed" properly. Thank you.
Taña Dalglish: 11:36am Apr 26, 2007: Thanks for the reply lannarusta. I believe once you have verified, if I am not mistaken, can correct the entry or ask a moderator to change, if necessary (see contribute to this entry under Options). Again, thanks and it was a pleasure to help out.

I believe that Taña is absolutely right, Pádel is not Paddleball, however Pádel players themselves translate their game as "Paddle" and I imagine this is just for the sake of translation. Here's a quote taken from the Pádel Center webpage:
"Calgary will host the 2008 World Paddle Championships from August 23-30. Competing directly with Sao Paolo, Brazil Calgary has become the first Canadian city to host an international “Paddle” sport event of its kind".
In my opinion, a correct entry in the Glossary should be made with a note in that respect. Suerte Lanna!

Thanks so much, the information from everyone shows that the game in the Hispanic world is somewhat different, so paddle seems to be the most correct, as it is not exactly paddleball

Padel

Erklärung:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padel_Tennis
Padel tennis (or just Padel) is a racquet sport played extensively in Spain and Latin America. It is not the same as Paddle tennis.

Padel, is typically played in doubles on an enclosed court about half the size of a tennis court. The balls used and the scoring is the same as normal tennis, and so the biggest difference is that the court has walls and the balls can be played off them in a similar way as in the game of squash.

The sport has been around for many years and although it is currently most popular in Spain and some Latin American countries it is now beginning to spread rapidly across Europe and other continents. The sports huge popularity along the Costa del Sol in southern Spain has exposed it to a large number of British residents and holiday-makers and this is one of the reasons it is beginning to take off in the UK.
