Paul Lambert (asker): 11:02pm Jul 22, 2004: It's actually trying to find a phrase which will comfortably fit within the sentence which is causing me trouble. Had initialy thought of 'farm-hunting sector', but I guess that implies hunting of farm animals, and I don't think that cow, chicken and pig hunting is too common in Spain!
Paul Lambert (asker): 11:04pm Jul 22, 2004: I would have to agree with the anti-hunting sentiment, SwissTell, but as this is a promotional brochure for a company specialising in el sector agro-cinegético, I don't think it would go down too well!! ;o)

Sol: 12:02am Jul 23, 2004: Just butting in: In my translation classes there was a lot of talk about Ethics, and the emphasis was in assuring the students it's O.K. to refuse work because of moral issues. But hey, that's a very personal decision! -
Paul Lambert (asker): 8:59am Jul 23, 2004: Thanks Sol - yes, I normally would have refused something like this, but it was a last-minute, rush-job for a regular client, and I (foolishly) accepted it before looking at the translation! I was told it was just a 'carta de presentacion de una empresa' (only 300 words) - now I know why they were so vague!!!!!

this is not so much a translation suggestion as rather a protest of the killing of deer and shooting of fowl of all kind ! And some of the Google sites even call it an "industry" or "an economic opportunity"!

i'm not an expert but cinegético is the way hunters like to refer to the science relating to game animals. i ran a search for game breeding in combination with hunting and it retunred thousands of hits. google isn't adequate evidence but the term makes sense to me
