Worked as a trade-press editor for many years; was chief editor of EDN (the largest OEM electronics magazine in the US); was founding editor/owner of Personal Engineering and ran that magazine for 15 years, still active in the trade press with regular articles in Scientific Computing World (my beats are engineering/modeling and High Performance Computing).


First learned German when working 3 years in the 70s/80s for Siemens AG in Erlangen as editor of the Siemens Review (I was the only English speaker in my department). Have been in Switzerland for the past 10 years.


Summary: I not only know the technology very well, I can write about it. When I do a translation, it's not just the words; I make it sound like one of my magazine articles.
