I translated and sub-edited this breaking news post about serious flooding in Senegal which left 18 dead. My translation was turned around swiftly and accurately, I also sub-edited my translation, ensuring it went live on Global Voices Online the same day as the original article. This meant this breaking news item about a disaster in Africa was available to the English-speaking world the same day as the French.

Translation of Breaking News about Barack Obama on Global Voices Online
This was a project with a super quick turnaround. I completed it in less than two hours, and also did a lot of sub-editing as I performed the translation. This ensured the post went live online on November 7, 2012, the day the original French post was written. This in turn ensured it was highlighted on the front page of the Global Voices website as Breaking News, the day after President Obama's re-election. The post was reviewing Obama's relationship with African nations during his first term of office, and speculating on possible directions he will take over the next four years.
