I'm living in the Frisian village Stroobos: since the Stroobos people know a from b it's probably the best place to b for a translator in Germanic language pairs. Stroobos is at the Friesland/Groningen province border. Frisian is a long existing Germanic language which together with Saxon, Latin, Celtic, French, Saxonian and Nordic (Jutland, Danish) some thousand year ago made up the English language. On the other hand, the local dialect is not pure Frisian, but partly Gronings (= Saxonic = Low-German). Hence some native Stroobos people (I'm not, however) can to a reasonably degree understand all Germanic speakers in their mother tongue, without especially being taught thereto.
